Bly, Oregon has some history behind it. Mitchell family was killed there by a ballon bomb made by the Japanese during World War II.
In 2002, Bly attracted national attention when Earnest James Ujaama was indicted and arrested for, in part, conspiring to set up a terrorist training camp on a ranch near Bly between October and December 1999. The indictment claimed that Ujaama was a follower of Abu Hmza al-Masri, and had ties to al-Qaeda and the Taliban. Ujaama pleaded guilty in 2007 to charges that he provided material support to terrorists by trying to set up the Bly training camp. Convicted on 11 criminal charges in Britain, Abu Hamza al-Masri is still wanted by U.S. prosecutors for trying to establish the training camp. In May 2009, Oussama Kassir was convicted for conspiring to assist in the camp's creation, based in part on testimony from Ujaama.
It was a town that had lumber mill there but has pulled out. You can get there several ways including walking on the old OC&E railroad bed that was made into a trail. Bly is located approximately 44 miles east of Klamath Falls, Oregon on hwy 140.
